Communication : this is so important !

Customer visits and newsletters are necessary to keep our partners informed. Showing our know how on exhibitions is as important as having a good website !

We exhibit every year in France, Germay, Sweden… This enables us to inform about our last investments and our cooperation possibilities. Today our know how integrates more activities such as machining, finishing and assembly : we want to make our customers aware of this for their existing products but also for their projects of parts or mechanical systems. Talking on an exhibition favors ideas and opportunities within nice exchanges ! We are also open to our suppliers.

We are present on fairs for subcontracting but not only : we are also neighbours of our customers on agricultural machines (Agritechnika) or commercial vehicles (IAA truck) shows !

A new era is beginning with ambitious people and a bright future: in order to adapt the capital structure with the family Stevenin (still owning the majority), a regional capital investment company has joined our company!

Our new partners are bringing their expertise and are willing to support us for new investments!
The first positive signal is the recent purchasing order for a new forging line which will enable us to:

• increase our production capacity
• secure one out of 4 existing forging lines,with a good product mix
• produce with high efficient machinery

This new line will start in September 2019
Good news for our existing and future customers! Our target is clear: we want to develop our partnership with you, through your projects, with SN designing your new components with your experts. We want to supply your products with more finishing: machining, heat and surface treatments, assembly, special packing…

From the very early stage of your project, there are many good reasons to ask us for a technical support !

What will be the different steps and what are the advantages for you at the end ? Why is SN interested in this approach ?

You are welcome to send us the first product information : this can be a sketch, a drawing, a 3D file.

The first step is to study the feasibility : if we think our technology will not be the best one, we will inform frankly. If we go further, we need to have a good understanding of the function : a view of the environment of the part, how the mechanism works and what are the mechanical constraints will help us in redesigning the part.

Therefore we will talk about steel grade, heat treatment, coining (calibrating), shape adjustments, weight saving… In case prototypes are needed, there are several options :

• A simple plastic part in 3D printing
• A part in the chosen steel grade, fully machined, exact replica of the final serial product
• A small batch forged in a simple tooling (reduced tooling cost)

Our customer was selling more and products, from a few 100s to a few 1000s per year ; therefore it was the right time to explore forging possibilities with us.

This component has been transformed from a fabricated steel sheet structure, with a lot of operations, to a solid forging with some machining : the cost saving has reached 40% !

Today, this product has a nice design, is much more resistant thanks to the material flow structure of the forging technology and has been customized with markings (logo, number, traceability) A great team work : both companies are happy ! Who’s next? Why not you ?
