This forging line is currently operated by 3 people working in 2 shifts : forging, trimming, inspection

Advantages with the use of the robot : 2 operators per shift only run the line so we save the cost of 2 people in total and we reduce the fatigue of the workers.

Investment : 200 K€

Cost for adapting an existing tooling :5000 € per tooling at our cost. This can be justified for a selection of parts running with sufficient annual quantities . For new components the cost will be less as it will be integrated in the original study.

Our challenge : offer competitive prices on the market and win new products.

Aiming for excellence ! Setting the parts into the trimming tooling will be more precise with a higher level of repeatability.

This is excellent for our customers : the best quality at reduced costs !

A set of tooling is necessary to produce a forging; it consists of dies, trimming and punching tools, and in some cases bending or coining tooling.It is designed and produced in our own tooling shop. In this newsletter we want to focus on the dies : The dies (upper and lower) are the heart of forging, giving the shape to the part, thanks to a cavity or multiple cavities, with preforming and final forming areas.

We forge with forging hammers, not presses : this choice has been successful since the parts can be produced at a low cost; the die below has 4 cavities so 4 parts are forged together.

How we proceed :

Quality tooling produce quality forgings : therefore its maintenance is strategic. A specific care must be taken from the manufacture to the storage : after the production of each batch of forgings the tooling is systematically expertized.

In case the tooling must be repaired or completely remanufactured, we decide it and plan it right after the expertise. There is absolutely no impact on cost, lead time or technical matter for our customer : this is our internal way of working.

And for strategic products we always have a brand new tooling in stock !
